I write this after a full weekend friendcation at Oak Haven Resort in Tennessee. It’s not always easy to arrange schedules of busy women but we were able to make it happen. We spent a few days and nights of eating well, a wild game of cards of humanity, hiking, deep (and not so deep conversations), a bonfire with an awesome drink and simply being.
During one of our conversations, a friend described her relationship with her mother in the following sentence. “Mom and I lived life together.”
This struck me as a wonderful way to describe a relationship. Life is meant to be lived and it is most certainly meant to be lived with others (beyond your spouse or partner).
When one discusses living rather than existing, it is equally important to question who are you living this life with? Do you enjoy the people you encounter on a daily basis? Do you regularly make plans to spend time with those that are significant to you? Are there people in your life that make you happy and a better person?
Today I’m linking up with Emily’s Grateful Heart Monday. I’m grateful for the friends in my life who include me as part of their world and I hope they know how much they mean to me.
Who are you living your life with?
