The calendar says it is September but I’ve been loving the 90 degree weather Central Kentucky has been having. However, no fear for my Fall craving friends, the weather forecast calls for more seasonable temperatures.
I’ve been slowly moving into September and the warm weather is partly to blame. I had the best laid plans to become more organized and pre plan over the weekend but I found myself sitting outside on my patio and simply being over the three day weekend. It was something that my body needed and we all must learn to listen to what we need versus what we think we should be doing.
Give yourself permission to be in whatever place you need to be this weekend.
While you are at it, don’t forget to catch up on some of my favorites for the week.
I had to do new running shoe shopping a few weeks ago. I’m typically a Ascis wearer but my next door neighbor, the marathoner, encouraged me to try Brooks Ghost. I was hesitant but I think I am now a convert.
I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton before it became an Oprah Book Club Choice. Why should you read it? Because it allows you to know you aren’t alone. You may not be a woman struggling with an addiction or a cheating husband but I guarantee you struggle with the same thoughts Glennon shares. Her realization about balance requiring pressure truly spoke to me. We can’t have balance without pushing against something. Put this on your fall reading list. (affiliate link above).
I haven’t watched Dancing With The Stars in several seasons but I’m looking forward to watching the new cast that starts on Monday. It just may be my Monday night brain candy.
Erica from Coming Up Roses always writes some of the most inspirational posts. These piece discusses how easy it is to simply be kind to one another and to put it into practice. I also love the t-shirt she is wearing that can help us all promote kindness.
I typically don’t walk through our local Petsmart because I want to take all of the dogs and cats home. However, last week I had to make a stop and then walked through the adoption room. I jokingly sent this photo to my husband because this little guy would match our cats perfectly. I then posted to my Facebook page. The next day, I was surprised when my friend Whitney tagged me in a photo with her kids and this guy. She had been thinking about a dog for months but hadn’t found “the one.” She knew immediately he was the one.
It feels good to know I had a small part in helping him find a great home. Don’t hesitate to share with others, you may have found just what they are looking for.
Hoping you have a weekend full of love and fun this weekend!!
