My April continues to be busy but there’s always time to share some of my Friday Loves of the week.
KAI for Williams-Sonoma Chef’s Knife, 8″
We didn’t need a new knife but several weeks, during an exchange at Williams-Sonoma, I found these knives. I purchased the green and not only does it make me happy but it’s one of the best knives I’ve used in some time. It’s probably time to sharpen our knife block!
We decided over the past weekend that we needed a new mattress. We had no intention of purchasing a new mattress on our first outing but we ended up falling in love with a tempur-pedic. I’ve joked on instagram that we won’t be flying off to a beach vacation but I can dream of a beach as I sleep on a cloud!
I was mesmerized when I first saw this video of starlings. It’s a wonderful break to take and enjoy the beauty of nature.
I have many friends who have side careers of selling multiple items. I can purchase something if I want and rarely do I feel pressured to purchase what they are selling. Over the past week there was an article discussing the pushiness and how annoyed everyone is of these businesses on Facebook. In contrast, this post appeared on Huffington Post stating the question why do we as women continually struggle with supporting each other? At times it feels like there is a contingent of people waiting to see others fail. My favorite quote is to pay attention to the people who don’t clap when you win.
I’m trying to build a private practice and the reality is, I have to promote myself, my thoughts and what I have to offer. Many of my friends don’t aspire to my dreams but it doesn’t mean their dreams of a successful part time business don’t deserve to be applauded. I applaud each of you!
Sometimes Life is Good
Have you ever had a time in your life when the pieces feel like they are fitting together? It’s a time when you know within your core that things are right. The last three years of my life have been about loss and rebuilding and within the past few weeks there have been things that have occurred that have helped me to see I am on the right path. I will be sharing more details later but just know that currently I am thanking God and realizing that there is always a larger plan.
PS: Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for Self Care Saturday.
Joining Five on Friday and Oh, Hey Friday!
