Happy Friday Friends!
The middle of August finds a return to school and the change in all patterns. I’ve found that regardless if one has children, we continue to follow the natural flow of beginning anew in the fall. I continue to enjoy these days of summer as we approach the next season.
This week I’ve been loving all things inspirational and focusing upon self esteem and self confidence. Hoping you may find one of these helpful as you start your weekend.
It has bothered me for years that our society is so focused upon not aging. Allure is now promising to not use the anti aging language. As they note in this article, many do not get the opportunity to age. It is next to impossible to pick up a magazine and not be faced with an article or ad telling us to fight aging. If we are lucky, we will each age. What we need to focus upon is living healthy lives. If we are healthy, aging will not be as much of a struggle.
Why My Gray Hairs Make Me Happy
After posting the Allure post on my Facebook page, my friend Theresa shared it reminded her of this video by The Stay At Home Chef Rachel. She recorded this post after receiving a comment that her gray hairs made her look like a hag. Her video speaks volumes.
This Wall Street Journal article points out that who we sit around at work certainly changes our performance. Read this and take note of where and with who you are sitting.
Have you ever met with a friend and had them asked “did you see all of my photos from my trip?” Social media has changed how we communicate with each other and the expectations of what we share with each other. I’ve discussed how social media can lead to depression but this focuses upon how to cope when our friends and family share every single photo and expect us to view each one.
Are you a fan of Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday? I love her conversations but often do not make the time to view what I have recorded. We can now listen to each of the Super Soul conversation via podcast! Being a podcast junkie, it makes my life easier, better and happier!
What you missed from me:
Hoping you have found something to inspire you for the weekend!
