Happy Friday and Happy Summer friends!
Today I am taking an unplanned day off from work. Several counseling clients cancelled and the few I had left were open to rescheduling. I do have a life coaching client in the afternoon but this is an example of how I practice what I preach. I just needed some me time. There are simply times when we need to take care of ourselves before we can help another and that is what I am trying to do.
Here is hoping that you are taking care of yourself this week and weekend. While you are practicing some much needed self care; enjoy a few of my favorite things.
I use to play this song on repeat and it’s one of my favorite summer songs. In honor of it truly being summer, let’s all sit back and unwind with The Fresh Prince.
Anne from Love the Here and Now had a brief exchange with her neighbor in regards to how he was doing and his response “I’m just trying to do good.” set the tone for a meaningful post. Our world is full of negativity and often hate but there is good in this world that we often do not share or discuss. Today I encourage you to try to do good in your world.
Ashten from Just Go Left was a featured blogger on EmberGrey this week and I feel a kinship with her after reading this post. She shares how we do indeed have choices in our life in regards to how we deal with issues that occur in our life. I’ve shared how gratitude has changed my life over the multiple losses in my life and I know Ashten’s post will provide inspiration.
Regardless of your profession, self promotion is important. If we don’t provide the narrative to our own script, who will? I love this piece from Best Kept Self that provides suggestions and ways to become comfortable with developing self promotional skills.
White House Black Market (one of my favorite places to shop) is having the first ever semi-annual sale with an extra 40% off markdowns and some full price styles. I’m considering this dress to wear for one of my birthday celebrations in July (yes, I plan on having several)
On a more casual perspective, Target’s Cartwheel has 10% off dresses. This dress can be dressed up or worn casually.
Cheers to the weekend!
