Happy Friday everyone! It’s already the second week of June and I’m hoping you are taking time to enjoy the warmer weather and longer days. I’m lucky enough to be spending the afternoon with a friend at her pool and we may go to a local festival on Saturday. It’s been a busy week and here are some of my favorites.
James Corden Carpool Karaoke
I’ve shared my love of carpool karaoke before and the Broadway version made me so happy. Just try to watch this without smiling. (This is also the time I confess I sing the soundtrack of Hamilton in my car.)
I’m honored to join 19 other fantastic bloggers featured in Karen’s post on tips to finding balance. Take some time to discover new bloggers and gather some tips.
Emily’s post on EmberGrey is something I have talked about for years. When you view life through a lens, you are narrowing your view. Yes, we all love to take photos to prove we have done something but what do you truly remember about it? You’ve been challenged to put the camera down.
Small towns do have a unique appeal of their own. I was excited to see that I’ve actually been to three of the towns listed on oyster.com and two of them are in Kentucky. Hello Maysville and Bardstown!
To even out southern small towns do some dreaming and find a beatuiful beach town on the east coast.
I love the points in this piece on Best Kept Self in regards to naming your inner voice. In actuality that inner voice is often a bully and you have control over it.
The world will celebrate the life of Muhammad Ali in Louisville Kentucky this morning. He is returning home to his native city and state. In graduate school (at the University of Louisville), I read a biography about his early life and that was when I began to learn more about him and developed an admiration for how he stood up for his beliefs. My neighbor who works in television shared that when she was at the opening of the Muhammad Ali Museum (a must see) in Louisville, the hair on her arms stood up when he entered the room. He had such a presence about him that I don’t believe anyone else has. He had many famous quotes but this is one of my favorites and one we each need to remember.
What you missed from me this week:
Enjoy your weekend!
