My Nanny used to tell me not to wish time away because it would go by faster the older I became. Sadly, it really does feel like that is occurring.
Once again, proof of the importance of savoring these beautiful days of summer.
The past few weeks have been a mixture of emotions for me with ups and downs. I’m reminded of the cycles of our lives and that every night does turn into morning and whatever one is going through will eventually end.
Despite some downs, I’ve been able to find some favorites things to share about the past few weeks. Here are a few of them. This is also my reminder that there is always something to be grateful about!
Birthday Weekend in Cincinnati
We attended the first Tequila Fest in Fountain Square and had a fantastic time with our friends Stephen and Rachel. We sampled over 50 premium tequilas, enjoyed fantastic music and had a wonderful taco and chips/guacamole bar. James’ #tequila shirt made him a hit. I’m not sure how many people asked to have their photo taken with him.
Before the festival, we spent the afternoon at Rhinegeist Brewery. I truly feel like they have the best rooftop deck I have been on. I shared a few photos on my instastories but forgot to save them. Trust me, you will love the rooftop deck. If you are in the Cincinnati area, make this a stop. Oh, their beer and cider isn’t too bad either!
I always try to take advantage of the birthday deals provided by stores and White House Black Market did not disappoint. I received a $15 off birthday coupon and went only expecting to purchase one item. They were having a percentage off their sale and then I discovered I had an additional coupon. Short version is I purchased these three items for $35. BARGIN! PS: This clutch rocks!
Trivia Night Fun
We joined some friends for a movie trivia night. Each table had a theme and we chose Caddyshack. My appetizer was mini caprese salad on golf tees. Sadly, our table came in second place.
Cru Wine and Food Bar opened last week at The Summit in Lexington. Our table of ten had a fantastic time and I only wish I could have taken a great photo of our table covered in wine flights. Thirty (30) glasses of wine is a site to see. The wine selection is good with various price ranges and the food we ordered was excellent. We were a little surprised that the space was not larger. They do not take reservations but I highly recommend a trip.
Our Cat Sasha
I shared on Instagram last week that James and I had to make the decision to let our oldest cat Sasha go. She was 15 and had quickly declined with kidney failure over the past two weeks of her life. Although it is different in our home without her, we were blessed to have her with us for such a long time. We are equally blessed to continue living with our other cat Sam.
