Happy Friday everyone! Winter temperatures finally decided to visit Kentucky this week and it sounds like we will receive a second dose this weekend. If you know me personally, you know I don’t handle cold weather and regardless of how cute my coat is, I would rather be on a nice warm beach. However, I am not and I’m thankful we have no snow.
I’m hoping wherever you are at that the weather is good, you are healthy and your weekend plans are exciting.
Come join me for this week’s edition of Friday Loves.
Recipe of the Week
Ann’s Ultimate German Chocolate Cake is absolutely beautiful and is Gluten Free with a secret ingredient. I was shocked at the secret ingredient and you will be too. I truly don’t need to have any German Chocolate Cake but may try this for Valentine’s Day.
Inspirational Post of the Week
Peggy Noonan’s 10 Ways Your Fear Stories Suck the Life Out of You (and what you can do about it) truly spoke to me. Regardless of whether you are starting a new business, going back to school or doing something you never thought you would do, you will find yourself in this post. Fear can hold you back and keep you from succeeding. What is your fear taking from you?
Self Care Post of the Week
Lindsay may not feel that her It’s Okay if You Don’t Want To Be a Full Time Blogger post has anything to do with self care but I believe it does and can be transitioned to many other topics. Those topics could be It’s Okay if You Don’t Want to Be A …….. Spouse, Mom, Committee Member, Wearer of the Current Fashion, Follower of the Latest Trend, (continue to fill in the blank as needed).
The truth is I am certain we will never live in a world where there is not the pressure to do what it appears everyone else is doing. Reminding each other that it is ok to not follow the crowd provides reassurance and speaks to the person who may not be able to verbalize how pressured they feel. I can tell you that as a counselor many of the problems my clients face come from the pressure they feel of not doing whatever the “right” thing appears to be from a larger perspective and not their own.
Purchase of the Week
I’m holding myself accountable that I will be removing pieces from my wardrobe as I add this wonderful stripped tee and essential long sleeve cover up (purchased mine in black and it’s now sold out) from White House Black Market. The tee will take me into spring and WHBM sweaters are simply my favorite!
Music of the Week
Just in case you haven’t had a chance to see Adele and James Corden’s carpool karaoke!
