I’ve had to remind myself this week that it continues to be February. Our Kentucky weather has been absolutely AMAZING with record breaking temperatures reaching 70’s. (I will never complain.) However, it does play havoc with one’s wardrobe.
In addition to the weather, I’ve been blessed to have a busy but truly good week.
- My coffee was paid for by the car in front of me at Starbucks on Tuesday (and I paid for the one behind me).
- My clients have been coming to sessions able to see their successes and the tools they are utilizing,
- There’s been some really good chocolate (a coworker celebrated a birthday and a client brought me belated Valentine’s Day chocolates)
- I knocked out three Piyo classes.
- Most everyone I have dealt with from those in customer service to those I pass by have been genuinely friendly. The world is such a nicer place when we smile and are nice to each other.
While you are thinking of the gratitudes you have for the week, here are a few of my favorite finds and reads.
Do you ever feel like you are seeking and receiving too much advice. I often encourage my clients to stop seeking advice from books, friends and even myself. Instead, I encourage them to listen to their gut and own voice. This post from Kris Carr truly hits on the point and a pertinent reminder. Sometimes, you have to look within for the answer.
Restaurants often struggle with turning tables over and I totally admit that our girls night often is one of those tables. I found this Wall Street Journal article interesting in the ways restaurants try to keep things moving. See if any of the tactics are used on you this weekend.
Who doesn’t love a good HomeGoods shopping spree? Did you know that their app will give you an idea of what is about to appear at your local store? Just a few great ideas to make your shopping trip even better.
There is not a one of us who does not compare our lives to another. Here’s another great reminder of how to stop feeling like you don’t measure up.
Smile of the Week: Favorite Instagram to Follow
I’ve decided with each of my favorites posts, that I want to share a favorite Instagram or other piece of good news in the world. This week’s favorite share is K-9 Piper (@airportK9). Piper is Wildlife Control at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan where he spends his days patrolling the runways for owls and birds making landings I’ve been following him for awhile after a feature on CBS Sunday Morning and totally love the moments he appears in my Instagram feed. Give him a follow, you will not be sorry.
What You Missed From Me
As many readers know, I began this blog as a place to openly journal about grief after multiple deaths in my family. The Truth About Grief and Loss is the four year perspective of grief from the journey of one who is a grief counselor.
Wishing you a fantastic and relaxing weekend!
