Today, Kentucky is in recovery mode from our second 17 inch snowstorm in less than two weeks. Only in my beautiful home state can one have temperatures in 40’s and 50’s and within less than 48 hours be at zero. It can be difficult to believe, but Spring is coming. Underneath the mounds of snow, flowers are preparing to bloom and life is beginning to start again.
Today I am sharing a few photographs I have taken with my Cannon 5si that James gave me for Christmas. Perhaps part of my struggle in taking photographs right now is that I truly am not a cold weather person. However, I am attempting to find beauty in the peacefulness of snow and the light of the sun.
Most of these photographs were taken at a local park last week. I am fascinated with the ice on the lake and the shadows against the snow. I still have work to do in regards to editing but that will come later.
The final photograph was taken of a small snow drift from my back door with my iphone. It is truly amazing what all those snowflakes can do when they stick together.
