Today I’m excited to have you meet my sponsor, Rebecca- Elena of The Glitter Diaries. Her blog is absolutely one of my favorites as she focuses upon everything from tough topics to DIY and she has most recently launched the Love Yourself Challenge. She’s a fan of journal writing and making sure there is glitter in your life! You can’t help but want to be friends!

Can you share how long you have been a blogger and the meaning behind your blog’s name?
I have only been blogging for seven months but have loved every second of it! I have always been an avid fan of journaling and glitter so I sort of put the two together! From there, I created the tagline ‘Living life with a glittering heart’ because I absolutely loved the definition of glittering and felt it worked perfectly.
How does your work differ from others?
Sometimes, I feel that it doesn’t differ too often! There’s that old saying, “Nothing new under the sun” and every now and then I get that feeling that I’m just repeating what other bloggers have talked about before.
But then I remind myself that no one has ever been through my life and that I offer different viewpoints and insight from my experiences.
What three words describe you? What three words describe your blog? Do you feel your blog displays your personality?
For me, I believe you can describe in the words: resilient, laidback and silly. My blog, however, would be described as: enlightening, positive and cheerful.
Personally, I think my blog definitely displays who I am as a person. I told myself that I didn’t want to develop what I call “The Perfect Peony Disorder” where a blogger feels like everything needs to be perfect in order to be successful. To me, perfection is boring! Give me some honesty and realness any day! In that way, I believe my blog is very accurate to myself.
What three posts do you feel a first time reader should read?
My post popular blog posts are definitely my Realities of an Abusive Relationship series, How to Survive Tough Times & Transitions and my most popular one ever Why Girls Should Be Nice to Other Girls. I think these three posts are perfect for getting an idea of what my blog stands for.
Why do you write/create what you do?
When I first started blogging, I had no idea what I wanted to blog about. I loved so many things: beauty, fashion, lifestyle, books and even some DIY! It was so hard for me to narrow it down but I really loved writing about lifestyle posts and truly loved seeing the comments from my readers about tough issues. As I went through therapy, I realized that I had a platform to make a difference to women everywhere. I wanted to share my growth and knowledge from therapy so I redirected my blog to mostly lifestyle with some fun beauty and fashion posts thrown in.
What does your creative process look like?
I usually just start writing, nothing special at all. I do have an editorial calendar that I follow and I usually work on posts a few days in advance to keep up with the schedule. I always have to have some music playing and love drinking some tea or coffee to keep me energized!
What goals or dreams do you have for you blog in the next year?
Well, one of my goals is to make my ‘Love Yourself Challenge’ a success! I have such high hopes for this new series; it’s been a definite dream of mine. Other than that, I have one really, really big project I’m working on that won’t be announced until the end of the year! I am so excited for it, though. I truly think it’ll be a great addition to my blog!
When you have 30 minutes of down time, how do you spend it?
Usually, I watch some TV. (Modern Family and Downton Abbey are my favorites!) but lately I have been reading a lot. I love just laying down and taking a quick cat nap, too!
If you could do anything and be successful, what would it be?
I’d love to be an author! I have so many dreams and goals with writing and being an author would be an absolute goal.
I can definitely pin it down to Mexican food, by far. I am so lucky to live in Southern California where we have so amazing Mexican food. Now, to pick my favorite from that is just impossible. I love it all too much.
Favorite Time of Day and/or Week:
When I’m not working, I really do enjoy the mornings! I love getting ready and sipping some tea and enjoying a slow morning. When I’m working, I love coming home during dusk and relaxing!
Technically it’s a mini-series, but it’s this Hallmark “movie” called The Tenth Kingdom. Seriously, so good. Filled with fairytale characters, cute dogs and adventure!
Movie Star Crush:
This is a toughie. I love Chris Evans (who doesn’t?) but also really adore and swoon over Evan Peters from American Horror Story. Too many gorgeous Hollywood hunks to consider!
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Maybe something like:
Never Kick an Anthill: and Other Things I Should Have Known
Which actress would play you in a movie?
The only two actresses I’ve ever been told I look like are Anne Hathaway and Alexa Vega (the girl from Spy Kids). They’re both beautiful and talented and I would be honored to have them play me in a movie!
What’s your #1 most listened to song on your playlist?
It definitely varies! Right now, I can’t stop listening to “I Wanna Be Yours” by Arctic Monkeys. I love their new album, so basically any song from there.
Favorite Vacation Spot:
I haven’t vacationed much in my day, but I have absolutely loved traveling to Hawaii! No surprise there, huh?
I’m from California so I rarely see any variety in the seasons but when we get little tastes of fall and winter weather, I love it! The fashion, the atmosphere, the general feel is by my favorite!
