I love events like Blogtober14 where you are given a prompt to write about each day. Although I haven’t been participating, I thought that today’s prompt is a great one for anyone to think about. As we are on a constant journey to find Happy, I think we forget that being happy isn’t complicated.
In random order, here is a list of what makes me happy.
My Husband / This guy is pretty awesome. He makes me laugh on a regular basis, understands me and continues to put up with me. He’s also a great hugger!
My Cats / Nothing like unconditional love. I should also include I just love kittens and puppies.
Sunshine / Life is better with it.
Beach / Did you know that the ions in the waves have been proven to improve your mood?
Mountains / As much as I love the beach, there is nothing like the peacefulness of being in the mountains.
A really good Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks / this is my comfort drink during the winter.
A great pedicure
My group of girlfriends / they are of all ages and come from all places and I love them.
Finding a new recipe / and discovering it is a good as I hoped it would be.
Being creative/ that can be from decorating to my blog
Music / all types
The first daffodils of spring
The yellow of forsythia in the beginning of spring
A Saturday or Sunday in the middle of winter where the weather is bad and there is no need to go out / a mini hibernation where you stay in your pajamas all day and make soup or chili and watch movies.
My house / Everyone needs a safe place to land
Traveling and exploring new places.
A great hotel room stay (plush mattress, room service)
Shopping sprees at White House/Black Market / I love the staff at the store and I’m guaranteed to find something (or a lot of somethings).
Accomplishing a task/project from beginning to end.
I should add that this is a great journal prompt that I use often with clients (and myself). As a result, I’m going to make myself stop.
What makes you happy? Take a few minutes and let me know.
