Hello will continue to be the word of the year for me. I have to say I have taken some opportunities that in the past I may not have in the past. The one that stands out the greatest is the night I said yes to the free tickets a friend had won to our local comedy club. I should add that it was one of our coldest nights here in Lexington. Saying hello is about taking the opportunities that come to you. I also shared in Wednesday’s post how I did say Hello to a job interview and then realized it wasn’t something I wanted.
2. HEALTH, FITNESS AND DIET
This month I have been able to check off my yearly eye exam (I was afraid my eyes had changed drastically and they haven’t) and I’ve gone for my quarterly thyroid check (vials and vials of blood to be drawn tomorrow). We will know more after the blood work. I told my doctor that I feel good but I also feel that I could feel better… we will see. Next month, I have a few other appointments to schedule.
My fitness routine is not bad. I wish I were more consistent but I doing something at least 3 times per week. This week I actually got up at 6:00 am and worked out! (By the way, Tracey Anderson’s Method DVD’s seriously kicks your butt)
My goals was to try two new recipes this month. I have begun the month with this green detox smoothie – and I have to say, the hype is true.
I still repeat some easy recipes but I feel like I’ve accomplished what I hoped to.
3. MAKE TIME FOR BEING CREATIVE
I created my door wreath for January and I feel that I have been more consistent with my blog posts – which I had hoped for. And I also finally found new pillows for my living room sofa.
4. MAKE TIME FOR PLAY (or Brain Candy)
When we had warm days this month (which feels so long ago), I was able to take several long walks. I also allow myself to spend time each night to do blog browsing/reading. I watched part of the Golden Globes and the Grammy’s and spent some time catching up on my magazine obsession.
I don’t feel like I did as much as I would have liked to. Hoping I can add some more play into February
5. MAKE TIME FOR FRIENDS
Sadly, we had to postpone our January Girls Night due to a bout of snow and cold last weekend. However, this month I was able to have a long overdue lunch with a friend (this was rescheduled from last May). I also continue to meet with my friend Jennifer on a weekly basis for our coffee fix and catch up. Additionally, I am thankful for my friend Sarah who takes the lead each month in reminding me we need to get together. And of course, several of us met up for a night of comedy last week. I continue to be a lucky girl.
How have you done with your own goal’s/resolutions/intentions?
Please remember, even if you haven’t been as successful as you want that you can always start new tomorrow. Happy Friday!!
