As I shared with everyone last week, my doctor suggested I go on a No Dairy/No Gluten/No Alcohol diet for a month. I wanted to share that I have begun to feel and see results in my body. After only 4 days, I lost SEVEN pounds and I’ve begun to physically feel better.
This is only evidence to me that I truly was putting the wrong food into my body. I read an article recently that encouraged one to treat “food as medicine” and I’ve always felt it was true. Sadly, most of us consume food that has been processed and many of the ingredients have been shown to make us crave more of the food. If you are interested in learning more about how much of our food is processed, you may want to read Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss. It’s a behind the scenes view of the food industry and the author found that the top executives of the food giants in this country do not eat their own food.
This week has been one of stocking our kitchen with the right foods for me and discovering new dishes to try. As our schedules and lives have changed, I’ve agreed to cook several meals a week (I’ve been spoiled that my husband loves to cook and has cooked all of our marriage). I’m so thankful for Pinterest as it makes finding meals and ideas so easy.
The first two dishes I tried this week were Fiesta Quinoa and Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps. Both tasted great and were easy to make.

I haven’t got my Pinterest Page connected to my blog at this time (remember I’m still new at all of this) but you can find both of these dishes on Pinterest and I will also be glad to share the specifics.
I will not lie, there have been moments that haven’t been easy and I craved chocolate but I’ve been able to work through the cravings. What the week has reminded me is there are many foods that can satisfy cravings that are healthy and taste wonderful.
Looking forward to finding new dishes and a trip to Whole Foods to stock up the pantry.
Have a Great Weekend!
